OSF HealthCare Named To List of Top ACOs by Becker's Hospital Review
OSF HealthCare has been named to Becker's Hospital Review’s 2017 list of 110 ACOs to Know. The list includes a variety of Medicare and commercial payer ACOs (Accountable Care Organizations), led by hospitals and health systems, physician groups and other organizations.
ACO models have grown over the past several years to develop value-based care for individuals across the country. According to the Leavitt Partners ACO Database, there were 923 active public and private ACOs in the United States covering more than 32 million lives at the end of the first quarter of 2017.
We appreciate this recognition. Our ongoing work to be accountable to improve the cost and quality of care is directly related to our journey to transform care to improve the lives of those we serve.
The list includes new and mature ACOs that have experienced success with their quality metrics. Some are members of the Next Generation ACO Model while others are inventive agreements headed by entrepreneurial groups and individuals.
The Becker's Healthcare editorial team selected ACOs for inclusion based on quality and cost performance, advanced tracks of the Medicare Shared Savings Program and the innovative nature of commercial agreements.
