OSF Ventures Appoints Managing Director

Garrett Vygantas, M.D., MBA, joins OSF Ventures, a part of OSF Innovation, as a Managing Director. He will partner with innovative health care companies seeking to make an impact in the provider-patient ecosystem.

With more than two decades of health care experience as a physician, investor and entrepreneur, Vygantas brings a broad spectrum of knowledge to OSF Ventures. He has worked in biopharmaceuticals, medical technology and diagnostics. He was the founding CEO of NewBridge Pharmaceuticals and was also an Entrepreneur-In-Residence and Investment Director at a leading life science venture capital firm. Most recently, Vygantas led health care investments at Jump Capital.

“He’s an experienced venture capitalist and as an M.D., he brings an extensive medicine and medical treatment knowledge base,” said Stan Lynall, Vice President of OSF Venture Investments.

A division of OSF HealthCare, OSF Ventures invests in and collaborates with start-up companies that have applicable health care technologies and devices that can benefit OSF in cost reduction and the improvement of patient outcomes.

“We are well aware of the transformation of health care and the migration to value-based and population health management environments. So, we are seeking new and better ways to serve patients and remain economically viable,” said Lynall. “Dr. Vygantas will further enhance our west coast presence, particularly in the Silicon Valley/San Francisco region, where he will be based, and where we already have partnerships and investments,” said Lynall.

Vygantas received his M.D. & MBA degrees from Georgetown University and completed his residency at the University of Pennsylvania. He is a Kauffman Fellow and serves on a variety of corporate and non-profit Boards.
