                        <guid>https://newsroom.osfhealthcare.org/osf-healthcare-announces-retirement-of-tom-hammerton/</guid><pp:caseid>732424</pp:caseid><description><![CDATA[<p><span>OSF HealthCare announces that Tom Hammerton, president of the OSF HealthCare Foundation and chief development officer for OSF HealthCare, is retiring.</span></p>]]></description><content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><span>OSF HealthCare announced today that Tom Hammerton, president of the OSF HealthCare Foundation and chief development officer for OSF HealthCare, will retire from his role effective April 3, 2026.&nbsp;</span></p><p><span>Hammerton has dedicated 17 years of service to OSF HealthCare, including the past 12 years as president of the OSF HealthCare Foundation. During his tenure, he has led multiple major capital campaigns, including those supporting OSF Children’s Hospital of Illinois, the OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home, Jump Trading Simulation & Education Center, Almost Home Kids and the OSF Cancer Institute.&nbsp;</span></p><p><span>Hammerton has been instrumental in shaping and advancing OSF’s philanthropic strategy, strengthening donor engagement, and fostering a culture of generosity that supports the Mission of OSF HealthCare.&nbsp;</span></p><p><span>In addition to his leadership in philanthropy, he has played a pivotal role in the development and success of the OSF Cancer Institute, helping to ensure transformative care for patients and families.&nbsp;</span></p><p><span>Through strong partnerships, including with David Vaughn Investments and OSF’s generous donor community, Foundation assets have grown from approximately $30 million to nearly $400 million during his tenure.&nbsp;</span></p><p><span>OSF HealthCare will begin a national search immediately to identify the next president of the OSF HealthCare Foundation and chief development officer. This recruitment is a strategic priority for the organization, with a focus on selecting a leader who will ensure continuity and support the long-term needs of the Foundation and OSF HealthCare.&nbsp;</span></p><p><span>Through the remainder of his tenure, Hammerton will continue in his role with a focus on transitioning key donor relationships and supporting an orderly leadership transition.&nbsp;</span></p><p><span>An announcement will be made once a successor has been selected.</span></p>]]></content:encoded><category><![CDATA[news,exclude,Tom Hammerton,OSF HealthCare Foundation,Retirement]]></category>

More at </span><a href="http://www.osfhealthcare.org/"><span>osfhealthcare.org/</span></a><span>.&nbsp;</span></p>]]></pp:boilerplate><description><![CDATA[<p><span>The Mendota community came together on August 18 to support OSF HealthCare Saint Paul Medical Center during the 20<sup>th</sup> annual ‘Fore the Hospital’ golf play day, held at Mendota Golf Club.</span></p><p><span>More than 100 golfers turned out for the 9-hole afternoon scramble, which was hosted by the OSF HealthCare Foundation. Last year’s event raised more than $17,000.</span></p><p><span>“This is a fun, laidback event that raises money to support the communities OSF Saint Paul serve in the I-80 region,” says Cherie Reynolds, OSF HealthCare Foundation director of development for the I-80 region. “In the past, for example, this event has benefitted our community gardens program, which provides thousands of pounds of food for local residents. We couldn’t be as successful as we are without the support of our sponsors, participants, the Mendota community and our Mission Partners (employees).”</span></p><p><span>Proceeds from this year’s event will benefit the I-80 Innovation Hub. Located at OSF Saint Paul Medical Center, the Innovation Hub was launched in 2022 with phase one focusing on education and training opportunities for OSF HealthCare Mission Partners and the development of innovative health care solutions.</span></p><p><span>“We are proud of what our Innovation Hub has achieved so far and look forward to continuing to engage our Mission Partners, patients and communities in this work,” says Dawn Trompeter, president of OSF Saint Paul Medical Center.</span></p><p><span>This year’s golf play day featured prizes, raffles and silent auction items that were donated by OSF Mission Partners. Come see the next stars of the PGA Tour and celebrities such as Tony Romo and others at the inaugural OSF Children's Hospital of Illinois Pro-Am & Championship Golf Tournament, taking place June 26 - July 1 at Metamora Fields Golf Club.</span></p><p><span style="background-color:white;">On Monday and Tuesday, June 26 & 27, teams will be comprised of All Pro Tour (APT) players, sponsors and celebrities. Broadcaster and former NFL quarterback, and Eastern Illinois University graduate Tony Romo is participating in the tournament (beginning Tuesday), along with several University of Illinois athletes and coaching staff including head football coach Brett Bielema, Mitchell Tenpenny & Meghan Patrick (Country Artists) and others.</span></p><p><span style="background-color:white;">The funds raised at the Pro-Am Tournament will support the OSF HealthCare Children’s Hospital of Illinois. These events provide an avenue for professional golfers to hone their skills while preparing for a life on the PGA Tour.</span></p><p style="margin-left:0in;"><span style="padding:0in;">Over the past 30 years, the APT has successfully graduated players to the PGA Tour. They include PGA Tour winners Andrew Landry, Brice Garnett, Cameron Beckman, Bubba Watson, and Ryan Palmer.
