The action kicked off Tuesday, June 24, with the Pro-Am at Metamora Fields Golf Club. Local participants have the unique opportunity to play alongside CBS NFL analyst and former Dallas Cowboys quarterback, Tony Romo, as well as rising stars from the ANNIKA Women’s All Pro Tour and the APT Men’s All Pro Tour, two prestigious developmental tours for future LPGA and PGA professionals.

On Wednesday, June 25, Romo visited OSF HealthCare Children’s Hospital of Illinois.

The competition runs Wednesday through Saturday, June 25-28, at both Metamora Fields Golf Club and WeaverRidge Golf Club, showcasing some of the brightest up-and-coming talent in the game.

Former NFL quarterback, CBS broadcaster and Eastern Illinois University graduate Tony Romo toured OSF Children's Hospital, spending time with some of the kids, sharing laughs, and learning about the services and care OSF Children's Hospital provides throughout central Illinois and beyond.

NBA Champion and Peoria's own Shaun Livingston joined Romo and UFC light heavyweight fighter Dustin Jacoby on the tour. Jacoby grew up in central Illinois and played football at Quincy University for four years. 

The smiles were evident as the kids got to speak with the guys about what they love to do including talking about football and video games.

The visit was made possible through the partnership with Metamora Fields golf course in hosting the OSF Children's Hospital of Illinois Pro-Am tournament June 28 - July 1. More than 100 golfers and celebrities are taking part in the All Pro Tour (APT) event. 

The APT is the largest developmental men's professional golf tour in the US. These events provide an avenue for professional golfers to hone their skills while preparing for a life on the PGA Tour.

Over the past 30 years, the APT has successfully graduated players to the PGA Tour. They include PGA Tour winners Andrew Landry, Brice Garnett, Cameron Beckman, Bubba Watson, and Ryan Palmer. Most recently the APT has seen Hayden Buckley, 2022 Masters Champion Scottie Scheffler, and runner-up Will Zalatoris find success at the highest level of golf. Over 35 players will walk the fairways of the PGA Tour in 2023 that began their career on the All Pro Tour.

Pro Golf is coming to central Illinois! Come see the next stars of the PGA Tour and celebrities such as Tony Romo and others at the inaugural OSF Children's Hospital of Illinois Pro-Am & Championship Golf Tournament, taking place June 26 - July 1 at Metamora Fields Golf Club.

On Monday and Tuesday, June 26 & 27, teams will be comprised of All Pro Tour (APT) players, sponsors and celebrities. Broadcaster and former NFL quarterback, and Eastern Illinois University graduate Tony Romo is participating in the tournament (beginning Tuesday), along with several University of Illinois athletes and coaching staff including head football coach Brett Bielema, Mitchell Tenpenny & Meghan Patrick (Country Artists) and others.

The funds raised at the Pro-Am Tournament will support the OSF HealthCare Children’s Hospital of Illinois. The money stays in central Illinois, benefitting local kids.

Wednesday – Thursday, June 28 & 29: 7:30 AM: Championship Round 1 & 2.

Friday, June 30: 8 AM: Championship Round 3.

Saturday, July 1: 7:30 AM: Championship FINAL.
