Gifts of Warmth

Team effort to provide blankets to cancer patients at OSF and across the country

Subaru of America and The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) have teamed up to provide support and “warmth” to patients fighting cancer at the Patricia D. Pepe Center for Cancer Care at OSF HealthCare Saint Anthony Medical Center, as part of a national program.

LLS and Napleton’s Subaru presented 80 blankets to OSF HealthCare patients this week.

"It definitely helps to have partnerships in the community," says Keith Ponce, patient care manager at Pepe Center for Cancer Care, OSF HealthCare Saint Anthony Medical Center. "There are a lot of things - you know - some things that we just can't do for your patients. Having this partnership really helps us to have a robust program."

Throughout July, LLS and participating Subaru retailers across the country are providing the blankets and messages of hope to patients undergoing cancer treatment at local hospitals and treatment centers. LLS and Napleton’s Subaru in Rockford selected OSF HealthCare Saint Anthony Medical Center as the local recipients. Now in its fourth year, the LLS-Subaru partnership, more than 100,000 patients nationwide have been impacted through this program.
