OSF HealthCare Continues To Invest in Peoria Area
Headquartered in Peoria, OSF HealthCare is committed to the central Illinois region, consistently reaffirming that after 140 years, its dedication is stronger than ever. The most recent example of this is the blessing of The Franciscan Prairie Building on West War Memorial Drive in Peoria.
With more than 300,000 square feet of office and warehouse space, the 43-acre campus will allow OSF HealthCare to consolidate administrative operations teams that work closely with each other including human resources, accounts payable, payroll, facilities management and construction and and supply chain.
With more than 267,000 square feet of warehouse space, new new location will give OSF HealthCare the opportunity to streamline supply logistics for all of its properties in Illinois and Michigan.
With the announcement by Caterpillar earlier this year to relocate its headquarters from Peoria to the Chicago suburbs, Peoria Mayor Jim Ardis is applauding the move by OSF to repurpose such a large facility that had sat vacant since its former owner moved out in 2016. He calls is a stabilizing factor for a high-growth area of the city.
With more than 300 Mission Partners (employees) working at The Franciscan Prairie Building, Joe Savala, Senior Vice President, Facilities and Construction Management for OSF HealthCare sees it as a boost for surrounding businesses as well.
When the facility was built and owned by the LR Nelson company in the mid-1990s, two swans lived in the pond on the property. They have returned! Mission Partners who work in the building will hold a naming contest in the near future.
