OSF Little Company of Mary Crystal Heart Ball 2026
Kavanaugh Family Foundation to be honored with The Venerable Mary Potter Humanitarian Award
The OSF HealthCare Little Company of Mary Medical Center Crystal Heart Ball will be held on Saturday, February 7, 2026, at The Field Museum, 1400 S. DuSable Lake Shore Drive, Chicago.
The black-tie event begins with cocktails at 6:30 PM, followed by dinner, a program emceed by Patrick Elwood and Dina Bair from WGN-TV, and dancing to music provided by Maggie Speaks – Talk of the Town Big Band.
Each year the Crystal Heart Ball showcases individuals and organizations for their outstanding accomplishments and service. The Venerable Mary Potter Humanitarian Award honors those who embody the ideas, vision and mission of Venerable Mary Potter, who founded the Little Company of Mary Sisters in 1877.
This year’s honoree is the Kavanaugh Family Foundation. David and Mary Virginia “Ginny” Kavanaugh have supported nonprofits across Chicago’s Southside for more than a generation. In 2009, the family formalized their long-standing commitment to service by establishing the Kavanaugh Family Foundation, which empowers individuals to build brighter futures, primarily through scholarships to students at Catholic, college-preparatory schools throughout Chicagoland.
Beyond education, the family and Foundation remain steadfast partners to numerous Catholic and community organizations, including OSF Little Company of Mary Medical Center, advancing initiatives that uplift the poor, the sick, and the vulnerable.
“Our family is humbled to be honored by the Little Company of Mary Sisters and the Crystal Heart Ball committee,” said David Kavanaugh Sr. on behalf of the Kavanaugh Family and their Foundation. “We share in the medical center’s Mission of helping the poor and the sick, and we encourage others to support those causes that provide opportunities for the most vulnerable in our community.”
Proceeds from the 34th Crystal Heart Ball will support OSF Little Company of Mary Medical Center. This includes, but is not limited to, vital equipment, facilities, and programs that benefit the communities, furthering the commitment to offer state-of-the-art, Mission-driven care as the hospital of choice for the families of Southwest Chicagoland.
Chairperson of the 2026 Crystal Heart Ball is Mary Uckerman, MD.
