The high school boys basketball season will kick off once again in Washington, Illinois, as OSF HealthCare presents The Kevin Brown Memorial Tournament of Champions (KBM TOC). For the 18th year fans will pack Torry Gymnasium at Washington Community High School from November 21-25 as some of the nation’s most talented players take the floor.

The invitation-only tournament features teams from California, Florida, Oklahoma, Alabama, Georgia, Indiana, Missouri, Wisconsin, Arkansas and Illinois selected by Shawn Powell, Director of Basketball Operations. The next generation of NBA players will be featured in the ultra-competitive brackets in the City of Washington Invitational, The Uftring Auto Group National Classic, The Titan Industries Grey Ribbon Invite, and the KBStrong Shootout Series.

This year’s pool of talent is deep with five defending state championship teams and 15 of the top 100 nationally ranked players. The OSF HealthCare KBM TOC will have a first time ever experience for fans with eight University of Illinois recruiting targets featured. The field also includes two top 25 nationally ranked players, Jacob Lanier and Toni Bryant, who are already being touted as future NBA stars. Fans will also see one of the top freshmen in the nation, Jaylan Mitchell of Evansville, IN.

The OSF HealthCare KBM TOC is known for its ability to spot “under the radar” players who eventually become NBA stars such as Zion Williamson, Buddy Hield and Anthony Davis.  This year is no exception as Dillan Shaw, DeWayne Brown, Braedan Lue, Joseph Hartman, and Jordan Harris look to dominate the competition.

The 18th annual KBM TOC presented by OSF HealthCare will feature some of the most entertaining and unique basketball talent from around the country in one of the event’s most competitive tournaments ever. The OSF HealthCare KBM TOC is again partnering with Clutch Sports Media to livestream the event, allowing fans around the country to be a part of all the excitement that is the KBM TOC.

OSF HealthCare is proud to join the tournament once again as title sponsor. Proceeds benefit KBStrong to support researchers at OSF HealthCare and the University of Illinois College of Medicine in Peoria who are advancing knowledge and understanding of brain cancer and translating those findings into improved clinical treatments and outcomes. Coach Kevin Brown, who founded the tournament and in whose memory the event is named, lost his battle with glioblastoma in 2019, but his legacy lives on through the tournament and the KBStrong Foundation.
