For months, Mori Jo Meling was planning her dream wedding, a special ceremony set for March 8, with close friends on the beaches of Mexico. That is, until, she became ill and was rushed to OSF Saint Anthony Medical Center for emergency surgery to remove a tumor and cyst from her brain. Meling and her fiancé, Patrick Conkrite, instead said their vows during a ceremony in the chapel at OSF Saint Anthony Medical Center. Meling was determined not to let her health issue get in the way of her wedding. “I feel like I’ve been given a second chance at life."
