National Accolades for OSF HealthCare Cardiovascular Institute

Becker’s Hospital Review names Rockford group to national list

Becker's Hospital Review has named OSF Healthcare Cardiovascular Institute at OSF HealthCare Saint Anthony Medical Center to its "100 Hospitals and Health Systems with Great Heart Programs" list for 2017.

OSF Healthcare Cardiovascular Institute shares this distinction with 99 other national leaders on the forefront of heart care today. All have received recognition for delivering top-notch patient care.

OSF HealthCare Saint Anthony Medical Center has also earned a spot on Truven’s 50 Top Cardiovascular Hospitals list for 2017. Both national lists underscore the expertise and quality heart care patients can expect from OSF HealthCare in Rockford.

“It is an honor to receive national recognition for the work we do every day,” Kenneth Berkovitz, MD, CEO of OSF HealthCare Cardiovascular Institute. “Being named to two national lists for excellence in heart care absolutely reflects the combined results of our cardiologists, cardiovascular surgeons, hospitalists, and staff. It should also serve to reassure patients that they can expect the very best in our heart care, every time.”

To develop this list, the Becker's Healthcare editorial team examined several reputable rankings and award agencies, including U.S. News & World Report rankings for cardiology and heart surgery; Truven Health Analytics' cardiovascular hospital rankings, CareChex rankings for cardiac care, Blue Distinction Centers for cardiac care and Society of Thoracic Surgeons star rankings.

OSF HealthCare Cardiovascular Institute includes more than 65 heart specialists providing care at 22 locations across Illinois. The institute's physicians are engaged in advanced clinical care and in research, participating in 24 clinical studies evaluating treatment for pulmonary arterial hypertension and transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR).
