The OSF HealthCare Cancer Institute has received a $1 million gift from The Woods Foundation (TWF), a private foundation based in Lincoln, Illinois.

The OSF Cancer Institute, a 180,000 square foot facility opens that opens this month, houses a proton beam radiation cyclotron, a new suite for brachytherapy treatment, a teaching kitchen to promote healthy eating during and after a cancer journey, a healing garden and much more.

During a tour of the OSF Cancer Institute, TWF board members were deeply moved by the impact the campus will have on cancer patients and were inspired to contribute to the life-saving care and vision.

TWF’s primary focus is on philanthropic endeavors in Logan County, Illinois, but the Foundation saw the statewide impact the OSF Cancer Institute will have and committed to partner with OSF to build a world-class facility in Central Illinois.
