OSF joins Kevin Brown Memorial Tournament of Champions as title sponsor

The much anticipated return of high school hoops kicks off in Washington, Ill., as OSF HealthCare presents the 17th Kevin Brown Memorial Tournament of Champions. Fans will once again pack Torry Gymnasium at Washington Community High School from November 22 - 26 as some of the nation’s most talented players take the floor.

The invitation-only tournament features teams from Texas, California, Florida, Alabama, Georgia, Indiana, Missouri, Wisconsin, Arkansas and Illinois selected by Director of Basketball Operations, Shawn Powell. The next generation of NBA players will be featured in the ultra-competitive brackets in the City of Washington Invitational, The Uftring National Classic, and The Titan Industries ToC Shootout Series.

This year’s pool of talent is deep with 7 of the top 10 players in Illinois and 10 of the top 100 nationally ranked players taking the Torry Gym floor. Joliet West brings brothers Jeremy and Jeremiah Fears to face off against Chicago St. Rita with the top 3 juniors in the state, including University of Illinois recruit Morez Johnson. More than 60 current and former NBA players have participated in the Tournament of Champions since its inception in 2006.

The Kevin Brown Memorial Tournament of Champions is once again partnering with Clutch Sports Media to livestream the event.

OSF HealthCare is proud to join the tournament as title sponsor. Proceeds benefit KBStrong to support researchers at OSF HealthCare and the University of Illinois College of Medicine Peoria who are advancing knowledge and understanding of brain cancer and translating those findings toward improved clinical treatments and outcomes for patients. Coach Kevin Brown, who founded the tournament and in whose memory the event is named, lost his battle with glioblastoma in 2019, but his legacy lives on through the tournament and the KBStrong Foundation.
