OSF CFO named one of those to know by Becker’s

Michael Allen, MHA, CPA, FHFMA, Chief Financial Officer for Peoria, Illinois-based OSF HealthCare has been named to the list of hospital and health system CFOs to know by Becker's Hospital Review.

According to Becker’s, CFOs are indispensable to the financial operations of their health care organizations, charged with handling massive operating budgets, managing complex revenue cycles, creating and executing financial plans, cultivating partnerships and more.

Allen was recognized for leading a team of 1,500 Mission partners in the division of finance at OSF HealthCare. During his eight years at OSF, he has rebuilt its financial system, processes, and capital management processes, overseen significant asset increases, increased cash on hand by 36 percent, automated work processes, implemented self-service pricing for patients, partnered with the healthcare analytics team and automated document scanning.

The CFOs on the listed are credited with helping their health care organizations be better able to focus on providing the best possible care for patients.

Allen joined OSF HealthCare in 2015 and has 30+ years of experience in business and the health care industry.  He previously served as Chief Financial Officer for Gundersen Health System based in La Crosse, Wisconsin.
